How Can You Spit on a Smiling Face?

There is an old Korean proverb .. 웃는 얼굴에 침 뱉으랴 ..pronounced oot-neun eol-gooleh chim bae-teu-rya - translated, "How can you spit on a smiling face?" The meaning is obvious - anger begets anger, but befriend your worst enemy and they will not know how to attack you. It also means, be nice because not-nice is ugly .. but for our purposes, we'll go with the first, more dramatic interpretation.


The North Korean people, or rather .. the totalitarian North Korean regime, remains technically in a declared state of war with the United States, and with South Korea. With Trump in the White House, and a group of old men who don't mind dyin, and don't mind killing a whole lot of people, if North Korea attempts to win concessions with threats, or any form of aggressive action, it will end with a great many North Koreans, South Koreans, and undoubtedly Americans .. deader than dead.

Survive .. Prosper .. Win!

Being nuked is obviously not the road to victory, but doing exactly what China has done, with their economic reforms, absolutely is. It is time to swallow your pride North Korea - let the past go, and reach out to the west with open-arms and a big happy smile. Release the collective energy of your people, fueled by capitalist incentives, the highly-disciplined extremely hard-working North Koreans will outshine even your Southern brothers and sisters, who are can arguably claim the title for possessing the strongest of these traits.

No Need to Unify ..

Together, North and South Korea would have a population approaching that of Germany's since unification with former Communist East Germany. However, there is no need to unify, not right away anyway, just open the border for economic activity and investment. Immigration/Emigration controls can remain very tight, and be made increasingly lax over time, and the current N. Korean fatcats can retain control of government.

The model for this change, is of course China .. the economic growth, given the entrepreneurial spirit of the Chinese people, has occurred at a rapid rate, unparalleled in history. Not only is China the model, it is the economic partner that will boost the entire penninsula, given that North Korean shares a 1300 km long border, the trade volume from South Korean, via N. Korea, would increase by an enormous factor.

N. Korea produces much of the raw materials that could be used in S. Korean manufacturing, and some of that manufacturing could be relocated to the North, where very a very literate workforce eagerly awaits.

They Don't Want You to Eat

The future prosperity of the United States would less assured with such increased competition, and a further integrated SE Asian economic zone. There are a lot of people in that region, more than any other save the continent of Africa, that have yet to build modern homes and fill them with the products that most citizens in the West have already maxed out on. The US is certainly concerned about human rights abuses in N. Korea, and the nuclear threat, but don't be fooled, they do not wish to have a cooperative and economically harmonic North & South Korea. This in fact is the reason the South Koreans should be pushing for such a future,in earnest. The warmongers in government and in industry, in the United States, would not mind seeing a devastated South Korea .. this may ultimtely be part of their strategy in the region, versus China .. a conflict that many of these old bastards see as inevitable.

So, North Korea, do all that you need to do to get rich .. it is the ultimate "f*** you" to those who have been calling for your people to be nuked - trust me when I say, most people in this world today are lacking such quality, they would not care at all if it happened, and those who are in-fact demons, would cheer.
