Seablue Journal: They tell me it's Easter

They tell me it's Easter. It doesn't feel different from any other day. Is it a sign of my isolation? Is it because of where my attention is focused?

I've been very focused on other things this last couple of months. My car broke down. We've had a death in the family. Unexpected expenses have appeared. Fortune has been blowing an ill wind of late.

Times like these it is easy to get down and depressed. I could be weighed down by worries of the world. I've managed to keep my mind away from those types of thoughts. In doing so I went to a lonely place. I buried myself in my other interests in my spare time, so as to keep my mind occupied. I didn't talk to anyone. I didn't go out. I didn't do anything but what was allowing me to keep my mind away from thoughts of calamity and disaster.

I've been so occupied in this pursuit, that I haven't really noticed what is happening in the world around me.

So they tell me it's Easter. It kind of crept up on me while I was distracted.
