When I travel I always try to visit a site or monument declared by UNESCO World Heritage Site. These visits never disappoint because they admire the wonders of art, architecture, or archeology that are unique and important for the history of peoples' culture. The sites included in the UNESCO list in Italy are 53: it is the country with the largest number of Unesco sites followed by China (52) and Spain (46).

Today I show some photos that I took to Pisa (Italy).
The “Piazza dei Miracoli” or Piazza of Miracles is a walled 8.87-hectare area located in Pisa, (Italy) recognized as an important center of European medieval art and one of the finest architectural complexes in the world. The square is dominated by four great religious edifices: the Pisa Cathedral, The Pisa Baptistry, the famous “Leaning Tower” and the Monumental Cemetery founded in 1277 .

In 1987, the whole square was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site with this motivation :
Piazza del Duomo, Pisa
Standing in a large green expanse, Piazza del Duomo houses a group of monuments known the world over. These four masterpieces of medieval architecture – the cathedral, the baptistry, the campanile (the 'Leaning Tower') and the cemetery – had a great influence on monumental art in Italy from the 11th to the 14th century.
