Skynet — The World’s First Blokchain loT Chip
Introduction
Imagine a reality where smart devices can interact autonomously and securely on a large scale. A large number of devices are easily involved in the global economy. This is the long-standing vision of IoT technology, the creation of self-organizing artificial intelligence networks.
Blockchain technology is a candidate for data security and payment to make this possible. At the moment, the current Blockchain technology simply has no performance for this.
The Skynet project aims to change this. The system consists of a combination of a system-on-a-chip core optimized for artificial intelligence applications and a highly scalable Blockchain.
Intellectual network of machines
The technology of the distributed book that emerged with Bitcoin can provide a secure and reliable level of communication for a secure network of interconnected IoT devices. Blockchain can provide solutions for device identification, secure decentralized micro payments and reliable communications with guaranteed data integrity.
Such a trusted infrastructure must support very high transaction throughput, almost instant transaction confirmation, and almost infinite scalability in terms of the number of supported devices. None of the current Blockchain provides these guarantees, although recent advances in the protocols laid the foundation for the creation of such systems.
Skynet combines innovative solutions for scalable distributed accounting register networks with specially designed equipment to create a high-throughput transaction architecture.
Skynet Core
At the heart of Skynet is Skynet Core, a specialized chip that implements a system on a chip (SoC), optimized for Blockchain and AI applications. The chip uses the 32-bit or 64-bit RISC-V core and contains a patented technology to provide the following components:
Hardware wallet: Key management and wallet security problems are one of the main reasons for losing money. Connected devices that contain wallets for M2M interactions are exposed to external attack vectors. Built-in hardware wallet support, similar to Ledger support, provides built-in security for key management. However, to provide true M2M payment options, the Skynet core includes an automated permissions system and AI authentication.
Hash acceleration: among the most common algorithms in Blockchain technology are cryptographic hash functions. For this reason, the Skynet core includes built-in acceleration.
Automatic signing of transactions: devices connected via Blockchain exchange data through transactions. To facilitate this, Skynet Core includes the automatic signing of transactions, which allows you to clearly identify the sources of all Blockchain interactions.
It is important to note that Skynet Core will be released on a license-free model, which will allow SoC manufacturers to create chip implementations and associate them with their solutions.
Skynet Open Network
Using Blockchain to interact with IoT devices has several advantages. First, the devices are always well defined and the integrity of the isolation data can always be checked. In addition, devices can create reputation based on past transactions. Devices can distribute workloads and share data, as well as use M2M micro payments to reward their services.
To facilitate this global network of connected devices supported by Blockchain, Skynet provides a scalable network called Skynet Open Network (SON).
SON implements a multi-chain approach that integrates several Blockchain integrated through the root Blockchain.
SON Fabric is the root Blockchain that can be used to integrate a large number of Blockchain.
SON Nova is an Ethereum-compatible intelligent contract platform that allows you to create decentralized applications.
SON Idex provides a device identification solution capable of providing secure node discovery and device management. IOT
Son Singularity is a subchain aimed at providing an artificial intelligence knowledge network consisting of decentralized machine learning and market applications that allow data to be exchanged between devices.
