➜⇢ ➽ ➤The U.S. Is a Failed State, and COVID-19 Proves It
The United States’ capitalist and imperialist economy cannot provide a modicum of social welfare to its people and has been in perpetual war with Black Americans and Indigenous Peoples since its formation.
U.S. imperialism has a long-standing habit of imposing the most brutal forms of war and torture onto nations under the pretext of so-called humanitarian grounds. Humanitarian intervention and the “Responsibility to Protect” (R2P) have been used to destroy Libya, Syria, and Somalia and turn them into “failed states.” In many cases, however, these states were declared failures prior to U.S. intervention. Failure in the eyes of U.S. imperialism and its legion of profiteers is defined as any oppressed nation’s refusal to bow down to the economic and political dictates of a foreign imperial power. To be a “failed state” has always been a declaration of war by the U.S. and its imperial allies on the most oppressed and downtrodden nations of the world. What the hubris and racism of American exceptionalism and humanitarianism masks is that the U.S. is an actually existing failed state. COVID-19 has exposed this fact to the masses. https://ahtribune.com/us/americas-collapse/4028-failed-state.html
➜⇢ ➽ ➤A Disaster Is Coming: The Spread of Coronavirus in the Gaza Strip
The Palestinian Health Ministry announced on Wednesday evening another seven cases of the coronavirus, taking Gaza’s total confirmed cases to nine; the first two cases of COVID-19 in Gaza had been reported after two Palestinians residents, aged 79 and 63, returned recently to the Gaza Strip from Pakistan through Egypt. They were held in quarantine on their return and then diagnosed with coronavirus.
Gaza’s health ministry said in a statement that “there are seven new cases of coronavirus in the same quarantine center.”
The statement explained that the new patients infected with the coronavirus are the police officers who came into contact with the two patients the security men who were quarantined in the same quarantine center, but stressed that neither any of them left the quarantine center or mixed with the wider population.

➜⇢ ➽ ➤THE US SUPPORTING TERRORISTS IN SYRIA WHO ARE HOLDING HOSTAGES AT RUKBAN CAMP
While the COVID-19 pandemic has taken center stage of the global media, there is little attention paid to a tragedy playing out in southeastern Syria. Far away from the western media coverage of the “Islamic State of Idlib”, the scene is set in a desolate area on the border between Syria and Iraq, adjacent to the illegal US military base of ‘Al Tanf’. The ‘Rukban Camp’ holds 13,500 Syrian civilians, who are displaced, and 6,000 armed Radical Islamic terrorists of Maghawir Al-Thawra and their families.
On March 28 the Russian-Syrian Coordination Committee released a statement in Damascus, in which they exposed the US support of the terrorists who control the camp. Under the guise of humanitarian aid, the US has coerced the UN into complicity, as the UN aid trucks are used to deliver not only food and supplies to the suffering civilians but also arms and ammunition to Maghawir Al-Thawra who administer the camp. The US uses the residents of the camp as a reason to remain in illegal occupation of the area, claiming the US troops are protecting the displaced civilians who live at the camp.

PROF. MARIO CALIGIURI: “THE CORONAVIRUS REPRESENTS THE DEATH OF CAPITALISM AND AN OPPORTUNITY TO REINVENT SOCIETY”
Prof. Mario Caligiuri: At the moment, the Italian situation is the most serious in the world, in terms of the number of people infected and dead, even more than in China. The conditions are extremely difficult and in Lombardy they are even tragic. But the truth about the numbers is not told. For example, in China, from February to December 2019, 21 million mobile phones are turned off. I don't know if that means anything. In Italy, according to the High Institute of Health, the percentage of deaths due to coronavirus alone is about 2%. In Russia, the number of infected persons is very low and no deaths have been reported so far. In Japan, the country was quarantined immediately after the official news of the postponement of the Tokyo Olympics to next year. It is only in recent weeks that strict measures have been taken against the pandemic by European countries with the exception of Sweden, and the United States, where the number of infections detected has made it the number one country in the world. While the figures are indicative, they must be interpreted and put into context. And the conclusions will be made at the end, several months from now.
You mention three very disturbing elements, such as the fact that 21 million mobile phones have been switched off in China, that only 2% of Italians have died from the coronavirus and that Russia has very few infected people and no deaths. That's a lot of things to constitute a coincidence. In your opinion, what is the truth behind this mysterious Covid 19 virus?

➜⇢ ➽ ➤US cuts healthcare aid to Yemen despite fears of coronavirus
AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The United States has cut off millions of dollars for healthcare programs and other aid in Yemen amid fears of the spread of the new coronavirus in the impoverished Arab nation.
US President Donald Trump’s administration announced the decision on Friday, saying the move was a “necessary response to longstanding interference” by fighters from Yemen's Houthi movement.
Houthi fighters have been defending Yemen against a Saudi aggression and have managed to gain ground against foreign-backed militants.
The devastating military campaign which began in March 2015, coupled with a Saudi naval blockade, have killed hundreds of thousands of people and plunged Yemen into the world's worst humanitarian crisis.
The Saudi-led military campaign has also paved the way for the outbreak of epidemics, most notably cholera, in the impoverished country.
Many humanitarian groups and some members of US Congress had asked Washington not to cut off aid to Yemen at a time when the coronavirus pandemic is spreading across the Middle East.

Honey from Yad Mordechai On my first day of school when I was 6, I asked my big sister, Maysun, to read to me the word written on my school wall. It was لاجئات, which means “female refugees.”
But I only understood the meaning when my teacher asked us to memorize the name of our original hometown. It was a shock for me to learn that Gaza isn't where my family was from. Mama told me that we came from a small village named Dayer Sunayed.
"Why did we leave, Mama?" I asked.
"We are refugees; my grandparents and your great-grandparents on your father’s side were forced to leave by the Israeli occupation," Mama answered.
“Oh! I know this word ‘refugee.’ It is written on my school wall," I answered with a laugh.

There is a virus invader,
infecting,
killing,
widely spreading:
With an unknown creator
and a diabolical mission:
kill the most vulnerable,
spreading fear in its wake,
and impose a siege on the free.
How does it feel,
forced to stay at home?
Separated from friends and family?
Seeing only your own backyard?
That has been our life
for 14 years.
We live in a little strip:
just 365 kilometers long.
We too can’t leave.
Many of us have never even seen a plane
(unless you count war planes).
Comfort? We don’t really know
what that feels like.
We’re survivors of three wars
and bombs after.

Let's keep singing- This poem was inspired by the videos that have gone viral of Italians singing in solidarity with each other from their balconies while under COVID-19 quarantine, and by Alicia Keyes' song, "We Are Here." As one expert recently said of the penademic: "Containment becomes realistic only when we realize that working together is the only way to protect ourselves and our loved ones."
I stand at the balcony singing:
We are here.
We are here for all of us.
That’s why we are here.
I close my eyes and imagine
a friend at the balcony
in the city of Milan.
Our souls are brought together
so we can love each other:
Brother.
I see my friends, Pam and Kevin
in the USA,
at their balconies.
Ignore what Trump says.
Sing we are here,
we are here for all of us.
My friends from Switzerland and Germany,
Basel and Frankfurt,
are singing.
Let's talk about our part;
my heart touching your heart.
Let's talk about living;
I’ve had enough of dying.
That’s not what we are all about.
In dark cells in Palestine and the USA,
sit isolated prisoners,
alone on death row,
wondering if they will be left to die.
But they still sing.
From Tehran to Canada, China to Africa,
We must apologize to Mother Nature
and to each other.
Politics, guns and power
have gotten in the way.
But right now it doesn’t make sense.
We have forgotten why we are here. - See more at: https://wearenotnumbers.org/home/Story/Lets_keep_sing..
➜⇢ ➽ ➤Who’s behind COVID-19 pandemic: Are the chickens coming home to roost?
By Veterans Today Editor Kevin Barrett for Press TV
The question of whether the chickens are coming home to roost was famously posed by Malcolm X. And that was shortly after the JFK assassination. Malcolm X was suggesting that the same forces that the US had deployed to attempt to assassinate Fidel Castro, among others, may have bounced back in a case of blowback and killed President Kennedy.
And of course, we know that there’s a certain amount of truth to that. Today we know that the same CIA assassination squads that were unsuccessfully attempting to kill Castro were in fact involved in killing President Kennedy. So Malcolm X’s words were quite precient. Now does that apply to today’s coronavirus situation in which the United States is now about to become the global epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic according to the World Health Organization? https://www.veteranstoday.com/2020/03/28/whos-behind/

Trumpster Fake Preacher Arrested for Trying to Infect Entire Congregation
RT/Moscow: Tampa Bay pastor Rodney Howard-Browne, a religious confidante of President Donald Trump, has been arrested for refusing to obey social distancing orders at his church services. Last month, he vowed to cure coronavirus nationwide.
Howard-Browne turned himself in on Monday to Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies, who charged him with unlawful assembly and violating public health rules for continuing to hold his theatrical church services in violation of coronavirus-related ordnances.
The pastor, who personally “laid hands” on Trump at the White House in 2017 and who vowed earlier this month to keep his church open during the epidemic “because we’re raising up revivalists, not pansies,” posted $500 bail half an hour after he was arrested.
Despite being warned by authorities at least once that he would face consequences for flouting the suddenly-ubiquitous new rules, the pastor held not one but two massive services at his The River at Tampa Bay megachurch on Sunday. He even provided bus transportation to the massive facility, where he holds court over the 4,000-odd members of his congregation. https://www.veteranstoday.com/2020/03/31/trumpster-fake-preacher-arrested-for-trying-to-infect-entire-congregation/
➜⇢ ➽ ➤Countries must ensure stateless people can be tested for COVID-19 without fear of arrest, campaigners say
By Emma Batha
LONDON, March 31 (Thomson Reuters Foundation) - Millions of people worldwide will be unable to get healthcare if they fall ill with coronavirus because they have no nationality, potentially exacerbating the spread of the disease, human rights campaigners said on Tuesday.
They urged every country to ensure all stateless people on their territory can receive free medical assistance and help to self-isolate without risk of arrest or detention.
Campaigners said there was no point in countries taking measures to tackle the spread of COVID-19 among people recognised as citizens, while leaving it to fester elsewhere.
"Our healthcare systems are all based on nationality. If you are stateless you are invisible to the state, but you are not invisible to the virus," said Joshua Castellino, executive director of Minority Rights Group International.
Some experts estimate there could be about 15 million people worldwide who are not recognised as citizens by any country. https://news.trust.org/item/20200331095206-952tx/
