THE UNHEARD VOICES OF CHILD SOLDIERS

Heroes past and present
A term they always chant
To gives us false honours
For our sacrifices and bravery
In never ending battles
With rattling sounds of guns
And blast from enemy tanks
In fierce pursuit to kill.

Our lives in constant danger
For a course we do not know
Some make it out alive
Some with lost limbs and arms
Living with never healing wounds
With scars engraved in their hearts
Till the day they breathe their last
Hoping each day will be it.

Lives ruined in battle fields
Hearts broken beyond healing
Often for a war without a course
But such is the life of a soldier
But we are child soldiers
Snatched from our parents care.

Give us back our childhood
For it’s all we can ever have.
Take back your guns and boots
That robs us of our lives
For we are the future of every nation
And should be loved and protected.
Not in the fields of war
Where lives are ruined and lost.
