When I buy cryptocurency I get it for free.

If I buy Litecoin and Litecoin cuts in half. I paid 25$ per Litecoin. If I buy Litecoin and it stays the same value.My purchasing power never changes. I have bought nothing. Now If I buy Litecoin and Litecoin goes to 100$ I purchased Litecoin for negative 50 dollars per Litecoin. That means somebody paid me 50 dollars to "Buy" Litecoin. What have you recently spent 200$ on? Why was it not Litecoin?
