Netbox Browser: The first decentralized web browser with integrated blockchain node

History of the internet in a brief

What is the internet: The internet is a globally connected network system that uses TCP/IP to transmit data via various types of media. The first experience of communication over the internet is dated back in the year 1969 when a packet switch was run by Arpanet to connect computers between Stanford and UCLA for the first time. The first emailing protocol was designed by BBN in 1971 using the @ symbol to distinguish between the user name and domain.

TCP/IP — Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol that is used to interconnect network devices on the internet was implemented in the year 1974. In 1977, something exceptional happened when the first modem short for "Modulator-Demodulator" was created.  It is a hardware component that allows a computer or another device, such as a router or switch, to connect to the Internet. It converts or "modulates" an analog signal from a telephone or cable wire to digital data (1s and 0s) that a computer can recognize.

1984 gave birth to DNS (Domain Name System) which serves as memorizable names for websites and other services on the Internet. However, computers access Internet devices by their IP addresses. DNS translates domain names into IP addresses, allowing you to access an internet location by its domain name. Between the years 1989 and 1991, the first World Wide Web (WWW) was created which consists of pages that can be accessed using a Web browser along with the standards for HTML, HTTP, and URLs.

Mosaic, the web browser that popularized the World Wide Web and the internet was created in the year 1993. Netscape Navigator, the flagship product of the Netscape Communications Corp and was the dominant web browser in terms of usage share was created in 1996 but by 2002 its use had almost disappeared. 1995 was the first Microsoft browser Internet Explorer came to be which is a series of graphical web browsers developed by Microsoft and included in the Microsoft Windows line of operating systems

1996 gave birth to Opera browser which provides some advantages over other browsers from Mozilla or Microsoft. Much smaller in size, Opera is known for being fast and stable. Safari came to being in 1993 which was designed specifically for Macintosh computers to replace the Navigator browser. Mozilla browser emerged in the year2004 as an open-source Web browser which is part of the Mozilla Application Suite and this marks the end of Netscape. In the year 2008, Google browser was developed by Google Inc. that combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the Web faster, safer and easier to use.

General browser security issues

Irrespective of the selection of the browser you are using, both intentional and unintentional threats can generate risk when using it. browsers are the most exposed because they are constantly connecting to the outside world, and regularly communicating with web sites and applications that cybercriminals have infected with malware. Most modern browsers stored confidential data - Easy to use features have set some browsers apart such as saving credentials, browser history, cookies, etc. Nevertheless, the same browser still has all the potentials to betray user via the same avenue that intend to make life easier since it serves as a ripe target for the theft of confidential data because a significant amount of user information kept both on local storage and in the browser. Some of the issues in modern-day browsers include:

  1. Harvesting saved login credentials: Web browsers store an incredible amount of sensitive information about you such as credentials linked to your email account. an attacker that gains access to your email can reset your password on almost any other website you access.
  2. Accessing browser history: Your browser history is a genuine picture of your whereabouts on the internet and for what purpose. It will establish your behavior pattern by telling all about where you have been and the time you have been there.
  3. Obtaining autofill information: Despite its huge advantage, it can also be deadly. For example, Chrome can save information about your residential to make it easier to shop online. What happens when your device fell into the wrong hands? The intruder now has all the information about where you live and probably whether you are around.
  4. Analyzing cookies: files stored locally which identify users/link them to sites are another potential attack vector. Like the browsing history, they can reveal where you go and what your account name might be.
  5. Malicious pop-up ads: This is the most difficult to work with. They present themselves regularly with misleading warnings such as your device has been affected with viruses and prompting you to install an antivirus to remove it and a click will installed malware on your system. They are so difficult to close with the absent of a close button or "X" to do so.

What separated Netbox Browser from others?

There is no gainsaying that there are many modern browsers but one thing is common to them all. They have a high degree of centralization as they are owned by large corporations, most often commercial ones. These corporations take decisions when developing their products due to commercial reasons aimed at getting benefits. In these corporations, issues of privacy, personal data ownership, and product development are resolved without the participation of the users themselves, which creates certain concerns among the users.

The Netbox Browser is the first web browser that does not have a centralized infrastructure, all personal data of users belong only to them and decisions on the areas of development of the product are made by the community. The Netbox Browser infrastructure is completely transparent and distributed, as it is stored without the use of central servers in the Netbox Chain blockchain structures.

All Netbox Browsers are united in the Netbox Chain blockchain network. Each browser is a node of this network that stores and confirms the truth of the network blocks. To confirm the truth, the Proof of Stake (PoS) mechanism is used, in which each member of the network (each web browser) can verify the blocks ensuring their truth with a certain amount of the Netbox Coin currency. The node receives a reward proportional to the amount of currency issued as a guarantee.

You can download NetBox browser and experience the freedom of life. Be smart, be safe, be free, be independent, browse and get rewarded with Netbox browser. For further details, visit any of the following links.
