Casa Henrietta Hotel - Jimena de la Frontera - Spain
In the South of Spain there is a small picturesque village in the province of Cádiz where life goes by at a slower pace. Built around a castle from the 8th century, the 7,000 people who live in Jimena de la Frontera are quiet but friendly and they love their peace and tranquility.
For those people who try to stay clear of the busy touristy coastal towns, the cobblestones streets of this village, with its southern Spain white houses with brown tiled roofs, surrounded by the green landscape of the Los Alcornocales Natural Park, provide the perfect getaway.
This locality was declared a historical heritage place in 1983 and it has a Roman and Arabic legacy that can be seen in the oldest buildings. Its strategic location in the interior and its surrounding mountains, make it the perfect place to enjoy a traditional Andalusian experience, which visitors can enjoy in plenty of the affordable tapas bars that can be found in this village.
Casa Henrietta was a manor house located in the heart of the village. The house was refurbished and transformed into a quirky boutique hotel spread over 3 fabulous floors, with 13 charming ensuite bedrooms. The entire hotel is thoughtfully decorated in soothing colors. The cushy restaurant is located on the lower level, it has a beautiful piano, and it provides access to the cute terrace with wrought iron chairs and matching tables with stone tops.
All the bedrooms are very spacious and slightly different, with large tiled bathrooms. Some of them have views of the beautiful countryside and have large private terraces where you can have a relaxing drink al fresco.
The staff is very welcoming and happy to advise on places to eat and visit.
In sum, a wonderful place to stay to experience the real Andalucía and the Southern Spain way of living.
